Someone near, on WhatsApp, when the night gets heavy.
Perto is your church's pastoral companion. You send a message, however you are, and get a short word back with a real verse, in your tradition's voice. In the morning, a word for the day. Nothing to install: it is a WhatsApp contact your church gives you.
The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18
How it works
- Your church gives you the contact. A link or QR in the bulletin, the group chat, from the pulpit. You open WhatsApp and write the first message.
- You write at night, in your own words. Text or voice. Perto answers within seconds with a pastoral word and a verse checked letter by letter against the Bible.
- In the morning, a word for the day. Short, tied to what you brought the night before. Once a week, a verse card in your church's name, to keep or to send to a friend.
What Perto promises
- Never a verse alone in a crisis. If you write something worrying, Perto answers as a person, gives you the 988 line, and asks whether it may tell someone on the pastoral team. It only does so if you say YES.
- Your conversation is yours. Nobody at the church reads what you write. What the church sees is a summary of themes, without names, and only once at least 25 people from the church have given permission. TRANSPARENCY shows you exactly what the church sees.
- Deleting is one word. APAGAR removes everything that is yours, immediately, once you confirm. PAUSE goes quiet whenever you want.
- It costs you nothing. Members never pay. Perto exists for churches that care for people with little, and is built to cost cents per person per month.
Who it is for
For the person who leaves the service on Sunday and reaches Wednesday alone with what they carry. For the pastor of a hundred people who cannot be near each one at 11pm, but wants to know what to pray for and who needs a visit. Perto was born in Portuguese, for Brazil, and speaks English for churches in Canada.
Who makes it
Perto is built by Bridge Intelligence Inc. in Canada, with partner churches in Brazil. It is in pilot. If your church would like to take part, For churches explains how.
