Privacy policy
Perto talks with you about your life and your faith. That is sensitive data, and we treat it that way. This page says, without legalese, what we keep, for how long, who sees it and how to delete it. Everything here you can also do from inside WhatsApp, with one word.

1. What we keep
- Your WhatsApp number. It is how Perto knows it is you. We do not ask for email, government ID or address.
- The name you want to go by and the hour you prefer the morning word. You tell us both in the first conversation.
- The messages you send. The text is kept for up to 30 days and then deleted. Voice notes are transcribed on the spot and the audio file is not kept: only the text, for the same 30 days.
- The themes of your conversations. After each reply we keep a word or two about the subject (for example "anxiety", "grief") so Perto remembers your walk from one night to the next. Never the text of the conversation.
- Your permission answers. Whether you agreed to be in the church's summary, and when you answered.
- Which church you are linked to. By the number you wrote to, or by the church code. If you take part in two churches through Perto, each is a separate relationship: what you told one never reaches the other.
- Technical records for each message: time, whether the reply was sent, what it cost. Without the content.
2. What for, and on what basis
We use this data for one thing: to answer you with a pastoral word and a verse, and to send the morning word and the weekly card inside the conversation you opened. Perto never sends the first message.
Religious belief is sensitive personal information. The basis is your specific consent: you choose to write to Perto, and permission to be in the church's summary is asked separately, in these exact words: "May I include your themes — without your name, and together with at least 25 others from your church — in the summary that helps your pastor pray for the church? You can see that summary whenever you like and leave it whenever you like." Declining changes nothing in your conversation.
3. What your church sees
- A summary of themes for the week, without names, and only once at least 25 active people from the church have given permission. Below that, the church sees no themes at all.
- How many people are linked to the church, how many wrote this week, how many cards went out. Numbers, not people.
- Never your conversation, never your number, never your name next to a theme.
Send TRANSPARENCY and Perto replies with exactly what your church sees about you. Send LEAVE SUMMARY and your themes leave the summary. Nothing is deleted, and you can come back whenever you like.
4. When someone at the church is told
Only with your YES, and only the way Perto tells you beforehand: if you ask to talk to someone on the pastoral team, or accept the offer after a worrying message, Perto shares your first name and, if you choose to write one, one sentence of yours. Never the conversation. The pastoral team sees that request on the church's dashboard and marks when they have spoken with you.
In a crisis, Perto always answers as a person and gives the 988 line (CVV 188 in Brazil). It is not an emergency service. If there is danger now, call.
5. For how long
- Message text
- up to 30 days, then deleted automatically
- Audio
- not kept; it lives only for the transcription
- Themes, name, hour, permissions
- while you use Perto, or until you send APAGAR
- Requests to the pastoral team
- while you use Perto, or until APAGAR
- Technical records without content
- while you use Perto, or until APAGAR
6. Who processes data for us
Perto runs on servers operated by Bridge Intelligence Inc. in Canada. To work, it uses three services, each only for its part:
- Meta (WhatsApp Business Platform) — delivers the messages. Meta applies its own privacy policy to WhatsApp.
- Anthropic (Claude) — drafts the pastoral reply from your message and your recent themes. The verse is checked by us, not by the model.
- OpenAI (Whisper) — transcribes voice notes, when you send one.
That means your data is processed in Canada and in the United States. None of these services receives your name linked to your church, and none may use the content for any other purpose.
7. How to delete, pause and see
- APAGAR
- deletes everything that is yours, for good: messages, themes, name, permissions, requests to the pastoral team and records. Perto asks you to confirm and deletes at once. If you take part in more than one church through Perto, it deletes in all of them.
- PAUSE
- stops the messages until you write again
- TRANSPARENCY
- shows exactly what your church sees about you
- LEAVE SUMMARY
- takes your themes out of the church's summary without deleting anything
- NO CARD
- stops the weekly card; the morning word continues
- HELP
- lists these words
These are also the data-deletion instructions Meta requires of WhatsApp apps: send APAGAR to your church's number and confirm. If you would rather ask by email, write to privacidade@bridgeintelligence.ca from the number itself and we will delete.
8. Your rights
Under PIPEDA you may access the personal information we hold about you, ask for corrections, and withdraw consent. Under LGPD (art. 18) you have equivalent rights, plus anonymisation and deletion on request and the right to know who we share with. Most of it is one word away in WhatsApp; for the rest, write to the privacy officer. You may also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in Brazil, to the ANPD.
9. This website
perto.life is a static site. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and keeps nothing about your visit. The For churches page has a form: what you type there reaches us and is used only to talk with your church about Perto.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change something that matters, we tell you through Perto itself, before it takes effect, and you can send APAGAR if you disagree. The history of versions stays on this page.
